The Amps |
The TankThe Tank is a high-quality Precision PA amp that I converted into a guitar amp. It has a pair of 7868 output tubes rated at 32 watts output power. This makes it very loud, so it's going to be a great high-power head for jazz. It has a 12AX7 preamp and 12AT7 gain and cathodyne phase invertor. The circuit is a combination of the infamous Amgeg Portaflex and a 5f4 Fender Super. It has a very thick steel chassis and the metal case is covered in tweed, which makes this very sturdy for the road. I call it The Tank. The circuit is built with true point-to-point, which results in better tone and lower noise. It uses four high quality teflon coupling capacitors. |
