tyrosine requires biopterin, NADPH, NADH, copper and vitamin C
tyrosinemia - tyrosine accumulation causes neurological damage,

precursor of thyroid hormones and catecholestrogens
precursor of dopamine, norepinephrine and epinephrine
precursor of melanin (pigment)
synthesis of enkaphalins (pain relief)

leads to hypothyroidism and low adrenal function
